His promises are rooted in His unconditional love and His unconditional acceptance of us. This is true and indisputable because it is rooted in His word and not rooted in what we do or have not done. Like salvation, we cannot earn the promises but we can except them freely and apply them to our lives with a thankful, grateful heart. We also have access to a proper understanding of how to apply His promises and how we are to live them out with confidence and assurance.
We have the mind of Christ so we can know and understand the things freely given to us
There is no need for "guesswork" related to how we are to live out our faith or to walk in confidence and assurance because we have access to and are uniquely in a relationship with the person of the Holy Spirit.
1Corinthians 2:10-12 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God
1Corinthians 2:10-12 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
1Corinthians 2:16 For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
We do not need to wait for or earn the promises of God. They are active and available in Christ
2Corinthians 1:19-21For Jesus Christ, the Son of God, does not waver between "Yes" and "No." He is the one whom Silas, Timothy, and I preached to you, and as God's ultimate "Yes," he always does what he says. For all of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding "Yes!" And through Christ, our "Amen" (which means "Yes") ascends to God for his glory. It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us,
The Holy Spirit in our hearts is the guarantee of everything that God has promise us
2Corinthians 1:22and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
We have every spiritual blessing and promised supply we need in this life
"Our thanks are due to God for all temporal blessings; they are more than we deserve. But our thanks ought to go to God in thunders of hallelujahs for spiritual blessings. A new heart is better than a new coat. To feed on Christ is better than to have the best earthly food. To be an heir of God is better than being the heir of the greatest nobleman. To have God for our portion is blessed, infinitely more blessed than to own broad acres of land. God hath blessed us with spiritual blessings. These are the rarest, the richest, the most enduring of all blessings; they are priceless in value." Charles H. Spurgeon
Ephesians 1:3All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ.
2Peter 1:3 By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
